Jump on ATOS to be Competitive in Top Racing
With a CMM comparison to ATOS, Brembo explains the benefits of using the ATOS 3D scanner in their engineering processes for quality control inspection, first article inspection, 3d machining, production, prototype tests, assembly checks, incoming inspection and failure tests.
Italy-based braking system maker Brembo deploys optical metrology in its quality control processes to ensure that cars and motorbikes boast safe brake systems. Brembo is a leading international manufacturer of braking systems and provider of choice for big-name car and motorbike makers, including BMW, Ducati, Harley Davidson, KTM, Nissan, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. The company is closely connected with motor racing and is a supplier to Formula 1 and motorcycle racing teams.
In their presentation, Brembo’s experts will explain how the quality of their brake disks, which are partly produced in a casting process, is inspected with the ATOS optical 3D digitizer. The optical measurement system allows for the detection of part warpage and deformation and the analysis of material thickness and shrinkage. As a result, the company is able to slash manufacturing times.
