Hundreds Unite to Strengthen the Future of Manufacturing at the Ninth CAPTURE 3D Innovation Conference & Expo

SANTA ANA, Calif. US 06 October 2023 - For the first time in four years, CAPTURE 3D hosted its renowned Innovation Conference & Expo, bringing together hundreds from its community of manufacturing and engineering professionals with a common goal— to strengthen the future of manufacturing with 3D digitalization technologies, automation strategies, advanced software, and solutions that enable sustainability. Held October 3-5 at the ZEISS Quality Excellence Center in Wixom, Michigan, the event featured 46 ZEISS technology and software stations, multiple expert training and breakout sessions, networking events, opportunities to meet the ZEISS software developers, eight guest speaker presentations, and keynote presentations by ZEISS and CAPTURE 3D executives.

Since its inception in 2004, the CAPTURE 3D Innovation Conference & Expo has brought together users of structured light 3D scanning technology. However, this year was the first time the Expo featured an expanded portfolio by ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions, including automation, CMMs and optical systems, CT X-ray machines, industrial microscopes, laser scanners, surface and special geometry instruments, software, and more. The diverse display of metrology technology demonstrated the advantages the CAPTURE 3D and ZEISS integration brings to customers in industries like Aerospace, New Energy Vehicle, Medical, Electronics, and beyond.

Keynote presentations delivered by CAPTURE 3D and ZEISS executives inspired the audience to connect with the community, learn from one another, and imagine what's possible with 3D digitalization technologies that ignite innovation. ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions CEO Marc Wawerla shared his vision for the future of metrology, with CAPTURE 3D and ZEISS moving forward as ONE ZEISS to benefit the entire customer community. ZEISS software developers gave a sneak peek at a software innovation emerging onto the market soon. Guest speaker presentations from Gestamp, UNCC, and Delta TechOps spoke on topics like digital strategy, standardization, and sustainability.

ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions, PROTOS-3D Metrology GmbH, and Orchid Orthopedic Solutions delivered automation-focused presentations. GE Appliances, Lockheed Martin Skunkworks, and the U.S. Army told stories of the impact digitalization and digital transformation have had on their work and their organizations.

Evening networking events, including a dinner cruise down the Detroit River, offered opportunities for attendees to meet, make new connections, share ideas, learn from one another, and inspire action for a stronger future for manufacturing.

"What an inspirational community of thinkers and achievers innovating product development, manufacturing, and sustainability with digitalization, automation, and software. Thank you to our customers for making it special and to our teams for bringing everyone together with such energy and passion for this community," said CAPTURE 3D General Manager Rick White.
